The combination of fitness and counselling can provide a powerful approach to healing trauma, and the creation of Strength in Trauma is grounded in scientific evidence that supports this approach. Research has demonstrated that trauma can have significant effects on the brain and body, including changes in the functioning of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, which is responsible for regulating the body's stress response.


Physical exercise has been shown to have a positive impact on the HPA axis, reducing stress levels and promoting the release of endorphins, which can improve mood and reduce anxiety. Exercise has also been shown to promote neuroplasticity the brain's ability to reorganise and form new neural connections, which can help to counteract the negative effects of trauma on the brain.


Counselling, on the other hand, provides a supportive and therapeutic environment in which individuals can explore and process their trauma. Through various evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Attachment styles, and Trauma-Informed Care, counselling can help individuals develop coping strategies, address negative thought patterns, and work through difficult emotions related to their trauma.


Together, fitness and counselling can provide a holistic approach to trauma healing, addressing both the physical and psychological effects of trauma. Through Strength in Trauma, women can access personalised support and guidance to build resilience and find a path towards healing. Whether through individual counselling options or group therapy, our evidence-based approach is designed to meet the unique needs of each client and support them on their healing journey.



Who will offer these sessions?โ€‹


While Darcia will mainly lead the sessions, we have also invited carefully selected associates and guest speakers to deliver some of them. These individuals have been thoroughly vetted by Darcia to ensure that their practice aligns with the mission, vision, and values of Strength in Trauma. We require that all guest speakers have a trauma-informed, trauma-sensitive, and attachment-based approach, which is essential for the wellbeing of our members.

“My mission is to end the cycle of domestic violence in Australia. To achieve this, I will continue to share lessons from my own background to empower others to take ownership of their lives. With the right plan and support network in place, people are free to embrace the journey and live a life of passion, happiness and love.”


Growing up in the shadow of domestic violence, Darcia Ondrovcik was able to break free of the tragic cycle and forge her own path. Today, Darcia is a renowned personality in the fitness industry, with more than 15 years’ experience as a trainer, author, coach and athlete on the world stage. Darcia believes her experiences—how they influenced her life and how she ultimately overcame them— have given her the strength to share her story. Her mission is to help people in similar situations find their voice and start taking ownership of their lives, with the aim of ending the cycle of domestic violence forever.


Darcia, a proud Kamilaroi woman is the founder of Beauty In Strength and Strength In Trauma an online counselling service that provides a holistic approach towards healing. In her spare time, Darcia travels around Australia as a speaker and consultant to increase awareness of domestic violence and offer support to all those who have been affected.

  • How do I access the membership content?

    All of the STRENGTH IN TRAUMA content is delivered via a membership platform, THINKIFIC. You will receive your access details upon completition of goal setting call with Darcia.

  • Is there a goal plan call?

    Yes. The goal plan session will take place on the day/time you select and a zoom link will be emailed to you straight away.

  • What if I don't log in can I get a refund for that time that passed?

    All purchases are final whether the learner has signed in or not.

  • Can I share my login details?

    All purchases made to Beauty In Strength/Strength In Trauma, including courses, mentoring and programs are only to be viewed by the purchaser and cannot be shared with others. We monitor all IP addresses, login history and locations for suspected breaches  of this policy.

  • Can I cancel my membership?

    We'd love to have you indefinitely, however if you feel you are not enjoying STRENGTH IN TRAUMA, you can cancel anytime.

  • Is STRENGTH IN TRAUMA one on one coaching?

    STRENGTH IN TRAUMA is group coaching however one on one coaching can be given on the group calls. If you are specifically after one on one coaching please contact Darcia directly as this is a separate service.

  • Is this a medical diagnosis?

    No. You will not be diagnosed with any medical condition or be given the impression to think otherwise. Please see your medical practitioner for professional and individual advice. 

  • I am experiencing financial hardship but I really want to be part of the program

  • Are the workouts individualised?

    The weekly workouts sre scalable and modified to suit any strength and fitness level and substitutes will be provided. If you are pregnant or injured you will be required to present a clearance from your Dr before you begin the workouts.

  • Will there be food and nutrition?

    There will be general information and recipes to follow within the membership and we will be having a nutritionist/dietician on board in the near future to assist with meal plans and individualised  support.
